Stress ManagementTherapy
We all feel stress at some time in our lives. Talking through the issues is the way to discover the root causes and maybe changing jobs or relationships is the way to resolve the problems.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
PTSD may occur for example after witnessing a car accident, bomb blast, fire, earthquake or the death of a family member. Between 5-10% of the population will experience it at some time.

PTSD may cause irrtitability, sleepiness, lack of concentration, anger, rage, guilt, shame, loneliness and lack of purpose. Manifestations include reliving events, nightmares, flash-backs, intrusive thoughts and may invlove avoiding anything associated with the event. Sufferers may become dependant on drugs or alchohol as a way of stress relief.

Therapy involves going back to the scene of events and coming to terms with reality.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) may also be of assitance. This involves linking disturbing memories with repeated rapid and rhythmic eye movements.
